Dishwasher Fire

Roseland Park, Camborne at 03/02/2007 18:44

Two fire appliances from Camborne were quickly on scene following a call to smoke within a bungalow. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and found that the fire involved a dishwasher. The fire was already out and the dishwasher was removed, as a precaution.

The fire may have been discovered earlier, had there been smoke detectors in the property. If the fire had happened at night, it may have developed into a serious incident before it was discovered, which would have put the occupants at great risk.

Before leaving, the firefighters fitted a smoke detector to give the occupants greater protection and they would like to remind everyone of the great importance of having working smoke detectors in all properties.
