FAIR STREET, ST COLUMB MAJOR at 17/02/2007 06:37


At 0553 this morning the Fire Brigade received a call to Fair Street in St Columb Major that smoke was issuing from under the door of one of the properties.

Two appliances from St Columb attended. On their arrival they found the property to be smoked logged.

The crews used two Breathing Apparatus and a thermal imagine camera to investigate. The source was identified to a faulty flu in a chimney which had caught under walls of new stud work on fire, which was extinguishe using a hose reel.

Police were called for traffic control due to the narrow streets, whilst an ambulance attended for 3 casualties suffering from smoke inhalation. All persons were out of the property prior to the arrival of the brigade.
