Chimney Fire

Poldark Road, Illogan at 27/02/2007 23:27

Firefighters from Camborne attended and the chimney fire was extinguished using a stirrup pump and rods. A thermal imaging camera was also used to check that the fire had not spread.

General Fire Safety Advice:
Have your chimney swept by a competent chimney sweep at least once a year, preferably before you light the fire for the first time in the Autumn (N.B. If you regularly burn wood, we recommend that the chimney is swept twice a year).
