Following numerous 999 calls to Fire Control in Truro reporting a rapidly developing fire in a property, crews from Helston, Mullion and Camborne were mobilised. The initial caller stated that people were trapped. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the single-storey end-of-terrace building, measuring six metres by five metres, to attack the fire. Two casualties were already out of the building and they were taken to hospital by ambulance. There are no details available on their condition.

Two hosereels and one jet were used to extinguish the fire by 2225hrs.
Crews remained on scene until 0045hrs damping down hotspots and carrying out an initial investigation into the cause of the fire. The investigation will continue in the morning.
