Aircraft Incident
St. Mary's Airport, Isles of Scilly at 24/03/2007 12:02
On first reports of a plane crash landing at the airport, both appliances from St. Marys were mobilised, on arrival at the incident there was found to be a light aircraft involved, the plane was carrying four passengers with one person injured, airport fire and rescue, police and ambulance were all in attendance. One casualty was transferred to hospital on the mainland by air ambulance, the other three casualties were transferred to the Island Hospital for a precautionary checkup. The airport was closed for a time while the area was made safe.
