Cornwall County Fire Brigade Donate Fire Engine To Macedonia

at 11/05/2

Cornwall County Fire Brigade recently donated a fire engine to Resen, Macedonia.

The fire engine was presented to Trevor Paddon-Hall of ‘Running on Wheels’ who had identified a need for updated fire equipment in Macedonia.

“The people of Macedonia only had a 1951 fire engine to provide emergency assistance for 100,000 people, and it contained little equipment. This donation from Cornwall County Fire Brigade is going to make a huge difference and the Mayor of the country thanks Cornwall County Fire Brigade for their support in providing an up to date appliance for his community” said Trevor Paddon-Hall

The transporting costs to Macedonia were met by The Supreme Military Order of the Knights Templar of Jerusalem and it was driven to the country by Hugh Pendray from Dobwalls.

The fire engine was gratefully received at St George’s Monastry in Skopje by the Archbishop Kiril and the firemen of Resen Fire Service, Macedonia.

Cornwall County Fire Brigade also donated firefighting equipment.

The presentation of the fire engine was made on Monday 8 April in Skopje and a certificate was presented on Friday 20 April.
