Cornwall County Fire Brigade hosted the Fire Service Sports and Athletic Association (FSSAA) National Swimming Championships on Saturday 2 June at Truro Leisure Centre.

The Cornish team included: Emma Fitzhenry, Dave Pleasants, James Jago, Howard Davey, Dave King, Mark Blatchford and was led by Samantha Morris.

The team swam brilliantly and gradually the points tally began to grow.

Apart from a number of individual wins, Samantha Morris won the Ladies Masters title and the team won the Masters Title the Overall National Champions Title.

“This is the first time our team has won the overall National Title. Congratulations to all that took part and thank you to those who helped organise the event at Truro Leisure Centre” said Colin Hatch, Regional Fire Service Sports and Athletic Association Vice Chairman
