Firefighters from the Isles of Scilly Fire Brigade's St Marys Fire Station were quickly in attendance following a report of smoke coming from a kitchen. A member of the public had managed to gain entry to the kitchen and extinguish the fire before the arrival of the crews.

Note: 999 calls made on the Isles of Scilly where the caller requests the fire brigade, are received at Cornwall County Fire Brigade's Fire Control at Truro. Fire Control Operators can alert the fire crews on any of the five inhabited islands as quickly as if they were in Cornwall.
