Transformer Fire

One appliance from Helston was sent to this incident. On arrival it was found to be a building containing transformers and 200 gallons of oil, which was well alight. Local residents were informed by the police of the incident and asked to close all windows. The fire was eventually extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, they used hosereels and a foam branch to extinguish the fire. Crews remained on the scene for a considerable time cooling down hot metal surfaces. The crew at Helston returning at approximately 1130.
