On 19 June Members of Cornwall County Council resolved that Cornwall County Fire Brigade’s Service Plan be referred back to the Chief Fire Officer Matt Littmoden to ensure that any risk associated with the removal of night time cover at Falmouth and Camborne had been addressed.
Members of the Community Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee have now agreed the specific information that will be provided by the Chief Fire Officer Matt Littmoden. The information needs to be put before the same Committee in order for it to make a recommendation to Full Council.
The following information covering a three year period will be provided:
• Incident types occurring with respect to each of the fire stations in Cornwall;
• A written analysis of the information;
• The times and locations of fire deaths within Cornwall;
• The number of fire injuries and locations;
• Risk analysis information provided by the fire service’s emergency cover toolkit management toolkit (FSEC), a system recommended for use by HM Government;
• The calls to Falmouth Docks;
• The calls to Tremough Campus;
• An examination of other options to achieve the level of saving required within the Fire Brigade budget;
The following additions were also agreed:
• Analyse number of arson incidents with particularly to the Redruth and Camborne area.
• Comparison with Cornwall County Fire Brigade’s family group on the level of cover they have
