Appliances from St. Austell and Bodmin were mobilised to this incident. On arrival, crews found there to be a fire in a second floor flat, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel and a CO2 extinguisher at the scene and then proceeded to use the positive pressure fan to ventilate the premises. Crews led casualties from the scene and administered oxygen before the arrival of ambulance personnel. The owner of the property was alerted by the actuation of a smoke detector, which once again shows the importance of having these fitted.
