David Whalley, the Leader of Cornwall County Council, Ken Yeo, the Executive Member for Public Protection and Cornwall’s Chief Fire Officer Matt Littmoden met with representatives of the Fire Brigades Union today to discuss a number of issues relating to the provision of fire cover in the county .

Following the meeting it was agreed that the implications of the fire at the Penhallow Hotel in Newquay will be fully evaluated and no decision will be made on changing the current 24 hour provision at Camborne and Falmouth Fire Stations until this has been completed.
