Two people and a pony were rescued, after they became stuck in the River Fal. All the emergency services were involved in the rescue which took about one hour 30 minutes to complete.
Two crews from St Mawes, operational support vehicles carrying specialist water rescue equipment from Falmouth and St Austell, the rescue tender with additional rescue equipment from Camborne and the brigade's rigid-hulled inflatable boat from Falmouth attended. They were joined by the Coastguard, the Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat, a rescue helicopter, ambulance, police and a vet.
The two people were rescued by the Inshore Lifeboat by 1700hrs and the pony was rescued and led to a safe place by 1730hrs.
This incident, once again, has shown the effective way the different services work together to bring this type of emergency to a successful conclusion.
