Person Rescued From Static Caravan On Fire

Two fire appliances from St Dennis and one fire appliance from St Austell were mobilised following reports of a static caravan fire with persons trapped inside. A crew from St Dennis were first to arrive and they were told that one person was still inside the caravan, which was well alight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus searched and located the casualty, who was then rescued and left in care of ambulance personnel.
The casualty, suffering smoke inhalation, was taken to hospital by ambulance. There are no further details available from the brigade on their condition.
A hosereel was used to extinguish the fire and an investigation has been started to determine the cause. This will continue in the morning.
