Donkey Rescued Unharmed From Pool

Bealbury, between St Mellion and Callington at 18/10/2007 19:59

Following a report of a donkey that was stuck in water about 3 feet deep in a pool, two fire appliances from Callington and specialist rescue vehicles from Bodmin and St Austell were mobilised.

The crews from Callington used pumps to drain the water from the pool and then used straw bales as steps, so that the donkey could be led to safety. The rescue was completed by 2045hrs.

The donkey was not injured and left in care of its owners, seemingly none the worse for its ordeal.
