Firefighters from St Austell, some wearing breathing apparatus, used one hosereel to extinguish a fire in the kitchen of a two storey house, measuring about 10 metres by 10 metres.
An ambulance attended for one person suffering smoke inhalation.
A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke from the property.
