Torpoint Ferry Fire

Appliances from Torpoint and Liskeard were mobilised to an electrical fire in the engine room of one of the Torpoint Ferries. Crews used two breathing apparatus and took one hosereel and one carbon dioxide extinguisher into the engine room. The smoke in the engine room was caused by an overheating transformer. The transformer was isolated, crews and ferry staff then ventilated the engine room. Brixham Coastguard have been informed. There are no further details avaliable on this incident.
