Property Fire

On receipt of calls for this incident, appliances from St. Austell were mobilised, further calls were received by Fire Control and there were ‘Persons Reported’ at the scene, a further appliance from Mevagissey was mobilised. On arrival there was found to be a fire involving a three storey block of flats measuring 50 x 30 metres, teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed at the scene and they used a hosereel and jet to extinguish the fire. Brigade personnel rescued four casualties from the building, who were administered oxygen by the Brigade until the arrival of ambulance personnel, they were then transferred to Hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhilation. Arson was suspected. A Fire Investigation Team are investigating the property. Devon & Cornwall Police were in attendance. Further details may be obtained from them.
