Person Trapped In Trench

At 1224 this afternoon the Brigade was called to a person trapped in a trench 25 to 30 feet deep which contained rising water at St Marys Lead Works. Two appliacnes from Liskeard, the Rescue Tender from Bodmin and the Operational Support Unit from St Austell attended.

The Brigade made the trench safe, whilst assisting the paramedics, in releasing the casualty from the trench. The casualty was lifted to safety by a Royal Air Force Seaking helicopter from RAF Chivenor and then conveyed to hospital by the Air Ambulance. The Brigade have now left the scene. This is all the information that is availalbe in regards to this incident.
