Chemical Incident

Following a report from Ambulance Control of several people suffering the effects of inhaling cholrine gas in a building, firefighters from Launceston, Bodmin, Callington and St Austell attended.

A search was made by a fire crew wearing breathing apparatus to confirm that everyone was accounted for. Several people were treated by ambulance crews. The brigade has no details on their condition.

The breathing apparatus team identified the source of the cholrine gas and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the gas from the building, to make it safe.

Crews had left the scene by 1415hrs.
