Two fire appliances from Newquay were mobilised to a report of smoke in the loft of a house. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus found that smoke from a defective chimney flue had smoke logged the loft and top floor. A stirrup pump and rods were used to damp down the inside of the chimney and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke.
