Following a request from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service, two fire appliances from Launceston were mobilised to a road traffic collision with persons trapped.

On arrival, one casualty was found to be severely trapped and a further set of crash rescue equipment was requested. An additional fire appliance from Devon's Holsworthy Fire Station was mobilised to assist.

Three sets of crash rescue equipment were used to release the casualty by 1830hrs and the casualty was airlifted to hospital by the Police helicopter. Two further casualties were conveyed to hospital by land ambulance.
