Two crews from Helston were called to Commercial Road in Porthleven where a damaged weather vane was in danger of falling off the top of a tower. Part of the weather vane had already fallen into the road and a passer by alerted the brigade to the potential danger that the vane may cause. Crews used a triple extension ladder and a roof ladder to recover the base of the vane which had already fallen onto a lower roof. The crews secured the ladders to the buiding to ensure their safety and scaled the building from a sheltered location.
