Cornwall County Fire Brigade is currently consulting on its Service Plan 2008 / 2009. The plan incorporates the Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) and is about making sure the Brigade uses its resources effectively to deal with risk to life.
Fire and Rescue Authorities have been required by the Government to produce an annual Service Plan (IRMP) since 2003.
“The plan is about improving public safety, reducing the number of fire incidents and saving lives” said Chief Fire Officer Matt Littmoden
He cont: “We would like to seek the views of the public on the specific objectives proposed for 2008 / 2009. Four of our proposals have the potential to affect how we deliver our service. These include: the outcomes of investigations into the fire at The Penhallow Hotel, Newquay, regional fire control implementation, the development of a new retained firefighter duty system and the use of fire brigade resources; an assessment of risk”
The proposals are detailed on the brigade website along with the full details of all 25 of the proposals: www.cornwall.gov.uk/fire
