Two crews from St Just were called to the Lands End hotel this morning where the fire alarms had been set off. Upon arrival there was no immediate sign of fire, after inspecting the premise crews found a fire in a waste paper bin in a guest rooms. Fortunatley the fire was out on the crews arrival. The guest had lit some candles, in a plastic cup and once the flame had gone put the candle into the bin, without ensuring the candle wick had cooled. Once in the bin the hot wick re-ignited causing the fire.

Please ensure that all candles are properly extinguished and cooled before disposing of them!
