Firefighters from Looe were mobilised to a report of a caravan fire. On arrival it was found to be a controlled burn.

Members of the public are asked to ring Fire Control on 01872 320205, just before the start of controlled burning. You will be asked for the exact location of the burn and a contact telephone number (preferably a mobile), should an enquiry need to be made to check details.

By providing Fire Control with this information, should someone see the fire and dial 999, we will be able to advise the caller that the fire is under control and it will prevent fire appliances being mobilised uneccessarily. This would mean that fire crews will remain available should a genuine incident occur.
