This morning the brigade received a call to Pets Galore in Bude. It was a range of terraced shops with flats above. Fire spread to adjoining premises and flats above. A total of five appliances attended the incident, two from Bude, two from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue, also one from Launceston, plus a Specialist BA appliance from St Austell. The fire was extinguished by teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using hosereels and a jet. Three persons were evacuated from the flats and rehoused. The petshop was closing down and one tortoise unfortunately was deceased. A full fire investigation has taken place. No further details are available at this time.
