Firefighters from Callington attended. The crew evacuated about four nearby houses and gave advice to other residents as it was possible that the pole, with a transformer at the top, might burn through and collapse. Western power engineers arrived and isolated the power at about 1320hrs. The fire crew then used one hosereel to damp down the pole and the incident was then left in the care of the Western Power engineers at 1330hrs.
