About forty firefighters from Falmouth, Redruth, Truro, Helston and Camborne are fighting a fire involving a derelict semi-detached house. The propery of three floors, measuring about 15 metres by 15 metres is well alight and the fire has spread to the adjoining house.

Firefighters are using four jets and a monitor from the aerial ladder platform, that is on scene from Truro, to extinguish the fire. Although there are no known casualties, all persons have not yet been accounted for. Callers had stated that they heard voices of people in or around the property just prior to the discovery of the fire.

Arson is suspected and a fire investigation team is in attendance.

Police and ambulance are also on scene.

0645hrs - Crews from Falmouth, Truro and Camborne remain. Firefighters are working from the aerial ladder platform to damp down.

The fire investigation team will return at 1000hrs to continue their work.
