Fire At Large Dairy Farm

The brigade are currently attending a large fire involving 700 tons of silage. 5 major pumps and a water carrier are currently on scene from launceston Bude Callington Bodmin & command unit from Truro. Further to last statement 50 to 80 cows in adjoining shed not effected by fire700 tons of silage & hay well alight 2 firefighters wearing BA. 1 jet & 1 HR in use 5 pumps now on scene & water carrier from Bodmin.

Update at 1030 hours:
Crews are now being relieved at the incident. Appliances from Delabole and Saltash are now in attendance. Crews from Truro and St. Austell have returned, also crews from Launceston, Callington and Bude have been relieved and will be returning shortly.

Update at 1430 hours:
Crews have been using positive pressure fans, two jets and two mechanical diggers at the scene, the fire is now nearly fully extinguished, the crews are checking the area for any hotspots before leaving the scene.

Update at 1700 hours:
The fire is now extinguished and all appliances have now returned to their home stations.
