Fire On Houseboat

Moored Alongside a Pontoon on Penryn River, by Penryn Bridge, Falmouth Road, Penryn at 23/03/2008 13:59

Following a 999 call to smoke coming from the windows, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus from Falmouth used one jet to extinguish a fire on a houseboat, measuring about six metres by four metres. A positive pressure fan was then used to clear the smoke.

There was no-one on board at the time of the fire and the tide was out, so the vessel was laying on the mud.

Coastguard, the Truro Harbourmaster and the police also attended.
