Large Fuel Leak

Treluswell Roundabout to Carnon Downs at 26/03/2008 09:27


One appliance was called to a large fuel spillage on the A39 just past the Treluswell roundabout heading towards Truro. The fuel spill had come from a leaking tractor. The road was closed to enable it to be cleaned by Cormac. The fuel spill was so severe that the Royal Navy attended with a water cannon to wash the road clean. The fire appliance from Falmouth then proceeded from the fuel spillage towards Carnon Downs to deal with the leaking tractor. Crews used dammit past to stop the leak from the tractor, crews also placed a dammit mat over a near by drain to stop leaking fuel entering the local water system. Fire crews then escorted the tractor to its destination in Carnon Downs to help limit any futher fuel leaks.
