Horse Rescued From a Swimming Pool

Albaston, Gunnislake at 03/04/2008 09:17

The Brigade received a call from the owner of a horse which had fallen into a swimming pool. The pool measured approximately ten metres by five metres and at its deepest was approximately two metres deep, but the horse was standing in the shallow end of the pool and the water was up to his tummy. Crews from Callington, Bodmin and St Austell attended and used light portable pumps to empty the water from the pool and a farmer provided bales which were placed so that the horse could be assisted to walk from the pool. A vet was in attendance to ensure the welfare of the horse. The horse was released safe and well, and left with his owner.

There are no further details regarding this incident. Further updates will be posted on the newsdesk as and when incidents occur.
