On receipt of this call, appliances from Camborne and Penzance were mobilised, on arrival the crews found the barn well alight and requested the water carrier from Penzance. The fire involved a barn measuring 80 x 10 metres and contained a quantity of hay and farm machinery, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed at the scene using a hosereel jet, there were also two main jets in use. Crews were delayed for some time with the last appliance returning at 2330 hours.
