Two appliances from St Mawes attended this incident, On arrival crews found there to be a small seat of fire underneath a domestic coal fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, using a hosereel and chimney rods extinguished the fire and ventilated the property. The elderly couple were treated for the effects of mild smoke inhilation.
