Two fire appliances from St Austell, the Command Support Vehicle from Truro and an Environmental Support Vehicle and Support Pump from Bodmin attended a small fire in a laboratory store containing cardboard and chemicals. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hosereel and a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher to deal with the fire. A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear the smoke from the building, measuring 30 metres by 40 metres.
The incident will be left for on-site chemists to deal.
