Gorse Fire Attended By About 40 Firefighters

About 40 firefighters from Camborne, Redruth, Penzance, Truro, St Ives and Helston attended a gorse fire with a half mile front between Roskear and Roscroggan.
The crews used four jets to bring the fire under control by 2000hrs and protect properties in the vicinity. A large area of gorse was involved and electrical engineers attended to assess any damage to electricity poles and power lines, that were in and around the fire.
2015hrs - Crews are still in attendance damping down.
2200hrs - Damping down is now complete. The last of the crews have now left the scene.
