An Officer and crews from Wadebridge were mobilised on reports of flooding in the area. On arrival the crews firstly assessed a number of chalets which were threatened by flooding, fortunately water had only slightly entered one chalet and the water level had dropped.
Crews than proceeded to a nearby caravan park which had been affected by an acre of land being flooded, crews assessed members of the public and gave general assistance. The environmental support vehicle also attended from St. Austell to give extra support at the scene. Firefighters ensured the safety and evacuation of a number of members of the public, who proceeded to the safety of the on-site clubhouse.
Devon & Cornwall Police and the Environment Agency are on scene. Crews will remain on site until the threat of further flooding subsides.
Update at 0230 hours: Crews are still on scene monitoring the situation.
Update at 0324 hours: The risk of further flooding has now decreased. Crews have now left the scene and returned to their home stations.
