On receipt of this call, appliances from Redruth and Falmouth were mobilised, on arrival crews required further assistance and a further four appliances were requested, also the command support unit and aerial ladder platform from Truro and the operational support unit from St. Austell attended also the water carrier from Newquay attended. The fire involved a Methodist Church under restoration which measured approx 25 x 10 metres, 7 jets were used at the scene to extinguish the fire also firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were deployed at the incident. The incident was scaled down from 0830 hours. One appliance will stay on scene during the day. The cause is doubtful, a fire investigation team is on site as are colleagues from Devon & Cornwall Police.
