At 2116 last night, the Brigade attended a reported garage fire. Appliances from Penzance, St Just, St Ives, Falmouth and Truro attended. On arrival of the first appliance, the garage was well alight and contained a gas cylinder. Two jets, two hose reels and a ground monitor were used to extinguish the fire. The gas cylinder was thought to be acetylene until it was confirmed it was not the case. A 200m exclusion zone was set up and roads were closed. An investigation into the cause will take place later today.
