Car Fire

Rumford, Near Padstow at 08/06/2003 19:09

One appliance from Padstow attended this scene. On arrival they found the car well alight, it was then found to be a LPG gas converted vehicle, which meant the method of extinguishing the fire had to be changed, with the vehicle having to be cooled. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hosereels and a main jet to extinguish the blaze. Personnel were detained for some considerable time, eventually returning to station at approximately 21:30 hours.
