The Brigade received several calls reporting explosions in the area of Penpol Terrace, South Quay and Foundry Square, in Hayle. However on questioning callers it was believed to be a problem with the power cables. One appliance from Camborne attended to investigate the situation and found there to be a problem with a transformer which had blown a power line down. The Brigade stayed on scene to ensure a safety cordon until the arrival of the Police and Western Power who attended and dealt with the incident. There are no further details available from the brigade but information may be available from the Police.
