Polruan Fire Station’s Annual Coffee Morning will be held on Saturday 23rd August 2008 10am-12.30pm on the Quay and Old Coal Wharf in Polruan (If wet, the event will take place in the Fire Station at Greenbank).
The event has been the Station’s main fund raising event enjoyed by locals for around 20 years, and in the last 10 years alone has raised almost £9,000 for the Fire Fighters Charity (formerly known as the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund).
Visitors to the event can expect to enjoy a delicious cake and cuppa, as well as take part in the many competitions and games on offer such as ‘Splat the rat’, guess the weight of the cake, Find Fireman Sam along with tombolas, raffles and more! Also on sale will be Fire Fighters Charity souvenir goods.
Peter Hadley, who has organised the event for the past 10 years says, “We are looking forward to hosting the Polruan Fire Station Coffee Morning and raising lots of cash once again for the Fire Fighters charity. We’ve had so much public support over the past few years, and hope it will continue. Donations of cakes, raffle prizes and small items for adult and children's Tombola would be greatly appreciated, as would any assistance on the day, so do give us a call if you can help. Otherwise we’ll see you on the day - everyone is welcome so please tell your friends!”
If you can help or have items to donate, contact Peter Ripley on 01726 870380 or Peter Hadley on 01726 870423.
