At 2029 this evening, the Brigade received a call to a smell of petrol in a house. Two appliances from Looe were sent to investigate. On arrival, four properties were evacuated until the smell of petrol dissipated. The water authority assisted in the operation and pumped a nearby pumping station out. It is not known how the petrol or how much was put down the drains or by whom.
