The Island of Bryher, Isles of Scilly at 31/08/2008 08:00
Following a 999 call, received at Fire Control in Truro, reporting a chip pan fire, firefighters were mobilised from the Isles of Scilly Fire Brigade's fire stations at Bryher, Tresco and St Marys. On arrival the crew from Bryher found that the fire was already out and they stoodby until the fat had cooled to a safe termperature. The firefighters from Bryher left the scene at 0900hrs.

The Isles of Scilly have their own fire brigade with fire stations on the five inhabited islands. Emergency 999 calls from the Isles of Scilly for the fire brigade are received at the Cornwall County Fire Brigade Fire Control located in Truro. This Fire Control is equipped to alert the crews on the islands and manage the mobilising for any incident that they are required to attend.
