Firefighters from Falmouth dealt with a chimney fire. A thermal imaging camera was used to check the fire had not spread.

Make a Clean Sweep of It!
Cornwall County Fire Brigade attended 243 fires last year - remember: a chimney fire could spread into the rest of your home, resulting in severe damage, personal injury or even death.

Most chimney fires are preventable. Regular inspection and cleaning of chimney flues will help prevent fires within chimneys. Have your chimney swept by a competent chimney sweep at least once a year, preferably before you light the fire for the first time in the Autumn.
