Refit Building, Falmouth Docks

Six major appliances from Falmouth, Truro, Redruth, Helston and Perranporth are in attendance at Falmouth Docks. These are in attendance with a breathing apparatus support vehicle, ariel ladder platform, command support unit and three officers are also in attendance. The initial call was taken at 02:18 on tuesday the 29th of October, upon arrival crews passed the message building well alight and called for immediate backup. The building involved measures 70 meters x 30 meters and three storeys high. The building is used for general refitting, workshops, paint store and also contains a spray booth. The fire is believed to be on the first floor of the building. There was three crew searching the first floor of the building using breathing apparatus. At times there was seven crew using breathing apparatus. Crews are using five main jets, a thermal imaging camera. The ariel ladder platform has been used to remove outersheets from the building. At 0523 the seat of the fire had been located and all utilities to the building had been disconnected. At 06:35 there are still 50 fire brigade crew on scene of the fire.
