Make Pumps 5 Residential Fire

Mount Hawke at 23/06/2025 12:06

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service responded to a residential property fire in Mount Hawke earlier today.

The first emergency call was received by Critical Control at 12:06, reporting smoke and flames coming from the roof of a domestic property.

A total of five fire appliances were mobilised to the incident, with crews attending from Tolvaddon, Truro, Newquay and Falmouth, along with an Aerial Ladder Platform from Truro.

Two whole time officers also attended for support.

Upon arrival, crews were met with a well-developed fire involving the roof, which was rapidly spreading. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were deployed to tackle the blaze using hose reel jets. The Aerial Ladder Platform was used to remove roof tiles, allowing crews to expose and damp down hot spots to prevent further spread.

Crews worked quickly to bring the fire under control and ensure the safety of surrounding properties.

A fire investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the blaze.
