At 04:00 an appliance from St Just was mobilised to a report of a smoke detector sounding at a detached property at Lands End. Further 999 calls were received updating The Fire Service of a confirmed fire at the rear of the property. On arrival the crew requested an additional 4 appliances from St Ives,Tolvaddon and Penzance, one Water Carrier from Helston and an Aerial Ladder Platform from Truro. Firefighters used 7 breathing apparatus, hose reels, a covering jet to extinguish the flames. A fire investigation will take place in daylight hours to establish the cause of the fire.
