Hay Baler and Field Alight

One fire appliance and the water carrier from Liskeard, and one fire appliance from Torpoint attended a fire involving a hay baler and field containing cut and baled hay. Approximately twenty bales and five acres of field were involved and firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, ussed hosereels to extinguish the fire. The fire crews were detained for some time dampening down, with the last crew leaving the scene at 1500hrs.
